Welcome to Informa Economics Issue Monitor. You’ve come to know and expect timely, usable information and perspective from Informa each day to help you make solid business decisions. Now that news, information and analysis will be updated throughout the day as necessary!

Basic Service: The information in this level of Issue Monitor includes:

Snapshots: Brief news items which tell you the keys of a story in one paragraph.

Articles: These pieces will outline key areas of a given subject and what they mean, with a focus on political and regulatory issues. Also, it will feature other current policy and hot news topics that relate to our core areas of expertise.

In addition, the basic package will include other add-on features such as state-level news and the ability to access information categorized by topic, providing you with an easy on-line reference guide on a host of key issues. And, there will also be market data updates.

We know you don't want or need more information. Frankly, our polls tell us you want less! So we promise to make your life easier. That is why we are indexing the news and information, with QuickNotes to get you up to speed on major issues.

Where we do provide more information will be on things you have asked us to provide: our predictions on the fate of pending issues, based on our contacts and experience.

 

Enhanced Service: For those who need a more in-depth understanding of the latest policy, political and regulatory news and information, the Enhanced Issue Monitor is for you. It includes all of the features of the Basic Issue Monitor, with the following enhancements:

Daily Monitor: A quick, easy-to-read summary of key events and issues of the day, including scheduled economic and agricultural reports. This is updated each morning and afternoon during the week and and at least daily on weekends.

Exclusive Coverage and Analysis: The Informa team of Washington insider and Senior Vice President Jim Wiesemeyer and Policy Analyst Roger Bernard will analyze key issues and tell you what it means.

On-line Reference Guide: Background and history of numerous key issues and topics, along with expert forecasts on where a given issue could be heading.

Issue Index: Easy way to access all the content posted on the site, including ways to “drill down” several layers on key issues.

Media Watch: Links to key stories each day from major newspapers and news services.

Informa Perspective: Selected analysis and fundamentals from the staff experts at Informa Economics relative to crops, livestock, transportation and energy issues.

So how do you use all these tools in the Enhanced Service? Easy! Get started by logging in!

Now you’re ready to start using this easy-to-use but powerful tool!

 

So, how do you find all that Issue Monitor has to offer?
Simple. It’s a series of clicks – as few as is possible -- to provide you with the perspective and analysis you’re looking for.

 

Daily Monitor: At the top of the home page, you’ll find the daily “Monitor” item. It’s a quick and easy read. Just use the scroll button at the right of the screen to read the entire digest. It’s updated at least twice daily during the week. There’s a  weekend monitor, too. It’s that simple!

Latest Snapshots: These condensed, one-paragraph items tell you the main points of each subject. There are several filed each day, so use the scroll button at the right of the screen to view all of these quick, concise items. If you click on “more snapshots,” you’ll see a new page pop up and you can click on the “snapshot” tab to see those previously filed. It’s that easy!

 

Latest Articles: These more-in-depth items give you more information on a given subject. Just simply click on “Read More” to see the full article. Plus, when you click on “More Articles,” you can see all of these stories going back six months. It’s that easy!

Informa Perspective: These brief items feature key analysis of individual commodities from Informa’s stable of highly respected and knowledgeable analysts. These give you a quick “bottom line” on the given topic. Just click on “Read More” to access the item. And, by clicking on “More Perspectives,” you can see all of these items by clicking the “Perspective” tab. It’s that easy!

Links: Along the right margin of the home page is a box with links to a host of information, including a weekly calendar, the latest Media Watch, key reports and other information, in a concise, easy-to-access format.

More Links: At the bottom of the “Links” box is just what the label says – “More Links.” These are organized by subject area so you can easily and quickly access the specific information you need.

So how do you dig deeper? Simple! At the top of the Home Page, click on “Issues.” A menu of issues will appear on the left side of the screen, with tabs to access the various information components. To see Snapshots that cover Ag Outlook issues, just click on Ag Outlook and then the Snapshot tab.

Same goes if you want to see all the Articles for a specific Issue:

To view Reference items – more background and history of an issue – click Reference!

And to see the Informa Perspective, just click that tab!

Index: This is for those who really want to drill down on specific topics. This will even further narrow the focus of what you’re looking for. Just click on “Index” at the top of the home page, and prepare to dive in!

The information here is broken down into sub-categories. For example, on Energy Policy, you can access all the articles, snapshots and Informa Perspective on biofuels for the past six months, along with reference materials to give you the background you need to fully explore the issue. 

That’s how the Informa Economics Issue Monitor works. Pretty simple, huh?! You choose how deep you want or need to go for information, perspective and analysis.

And we’re not done. Coming will be new features and options that will further enhance your experience. Example: Informa Policy Predictions. Polls of Issue Monitor panel members’ views on key topics.
